When I first moved to Boston, I wasn't a morning person, because in Florida I was used to staying up all hours of the night. Since then it has totally changed around. I wake up around 8am all the time now and sometimes I'll just lay in bed and watch TV, or sometimes I'll get up and do stuff before I have to go to work. This morning I put on some records and decided to take some outfit photos! I wanted to look really nice for work today. I try to dress better when I'm on the register.
I was actually inspired by Julie of Orchid Grey this morning. I came across a photo I saved from THIS POST (<---- just click) in my inspriation folder and decided to roll with it.

Now she wore a black skirt and maroon tights, I didn't want to copy her completely, that's not what inspriation is about. She inspired me to put an outfit together of things that I had. I typically don't like long sleeves on short sleeved tops. I decided to break out of my comfort zone and wear this awesome silk leopard print top I bought at Community Thrift awhile ago.

I love being inspired by other bloggers, especially Julie, I have been following her for some time now. Last time I took outfit photos before I went to work, I got toothpaste on my slip right before I left! Lets hope this time that doesn't happen.

Vintage Valentine.

Happy Valentines day everyone!
Now I know everyone has their own feelings/thoughts/emotions about this day but that shouldnt hinder looking nice today. I dont really care about Valentines day, its cool when its cool and crappy when its crappy, but today was a nice simple day for me. Ill probably go up to The Behan in a little bit for a drink. Well working at Buffalo Exchange has me getting dressed up more and today I really wanted to look nice. I was going for a vintage Valentine card look. I think I succeeded.

My new top! I bought it at work the other day, its technically my Valentines gift from my Grams. Its originally from Forever 21.

I took these before I went into work today, and looked awesome. As I was leaving, I noticed I some how managed to get tooth paste on my slip. I was soooo upset. So I had to change real quick and leave. I ended up with my red high wasted and the same top, but no one got to see me in this outfit.

I cleaned my room and put everything away finally. I felt like I was living in chaos. After not working for all of December, and screwing around all day, adjusting back into a full schedule has been a little tough because I really do enjoy my "ME" time and hanging out with my friends. Its getting easier though, and it feels really good to come home tried from a hard days work, of awesome clothes.

And last but not least, everyone knows... Kimmie hearts Ronnie.

First Thursday after party.

Last nigh was my first art show in Boston! It was flamingo themed and to my surprise, a lot of people showed up! Some of my favorite people where there. There were people there I didn't even know who really liked my collection. All my flamingos were a success, all the glitter and eyelashes. I threw in a couple of other things. I actually sold my owl painting! To my lovely friend Nicky. Ms. Jill and Laurence bought one of my eagle paintings and Miles bought a painting I finished that morning. Thank you all again for supporting me and my art work. I love you all and everyone that came out last night.

Dress up day.

Hello February, where did January go? Well I started my new job at Buffalo Exchange, I am training to be a fashion buyer there. I LOVE my job. I can't say it enough. Since I live in Jamaica Plain and I work in Davis Square, my commute is about an hour (with some leeway time). By the time I get home Im completely exhausted, which is a good thing. I have been busy lately but I have been photographing things. The other day my good friend Nicky came to my house and we played dress up with all the fun pieces in my closet. I let her pick out some of here favorites and then picked out outfits to compliment hers. We got boozey and had so much fun.

This first look, Nicky is wearing my amazing 70's dress that I was meant to own. I decided to wear my vintage 1960's Neiman Marcus gown.

The second look Nicky is wearing an 80's velvet jumpsuit with a gold bow belt. I paired that with me sailor jumpsuit.

Next, maxi dresses in soft pastels.

Gowns you couldn't really wear out and about.
Now Ive wore the off white lace dress before, but I haven't photographed the gold and bronze dress in a long time. Its beautiful and I only paid $2 for it! Unreal.

And finally, you can tell the wine was really kicking in by this point. I had given Nicky one of my vintage lounge wear dresses and I decided to pull out my vintage bustier and awesome gray high wasted pants with a brown belt. I threw this outfit together and suddenly fell in love with it.

By this point it was 4:45 and I had to go pick up Ronnie from the Airport... and failed at that. It was fun to hang out with Nicky for once and not be surrounded by a ton of people. We plan to get together again and show off more things from my closet. For now, I just need another booze drink at my favorite bar.

WW2 Influenced.

Last night I started watching Band of Brothers with Adam and I remembered I had a hat from WW2 that I bought at Sheri's Yesterdaze a few years ago when I was in Florida. With how the weather has been lately, I actually got to go to the Arboretum and it wasn't freezing. Simon and I rode our bikes down there for a beer and I really wanted to take some new outfit photos. The dress I picked out was prefect, the color matched all the colors around me. It was actually the first time I wore this dress too, the tag was still on it... for $2.50.

Its really nice to get these posted today. Ive really been lacking on blog stuff and with the year ending I didnt want to be that blogger who didnt do a year in recap! With a great era of inspiration, this dress was a success. In other news, Im going on my big interview tomorrow. Ive just been painting a lot more lately and hanging out. Trying to lay low, but failing at times. I had to clean my room today, I couldn't find anything on the floor. This weather too has been way to nice, no snow on the ground. I have a feeling when it does start snowing, there's going to be a nasty storm. Other than that, keep staying lovely! I hope everyone had a great December. Xoxo!

Tattoo Wednesday!

Last week my friend Rus and I finally got together, and I got my saber tooth tiger skull. What he drew was amazing, I was beyond impressed. I had been wanting a skull for some time but couldnt decided on one or who to do it. One night Rus and I got to talkin and he had really been wanting to do a skull with flowers. The tattoo is amazing, I love it. I actually cried a little right at the end, because it was in a really tender spot. I have over 50 tattoos and the last time I cried, it was my third tattoo, which was a 4 and a half hour sitting.

Kimmie vs. Ronnie Christmas Trees!

So Adam and I were having a Christmas tree competition. In the spirit of Christmas, we (Ronnie) decided to call it a Christmas trues. You be the judge, I got plenty of compliments on my amazing tree. I will say this though, being there while he picked out all the ornaments and while he decorated the tree, Adam did a great job and he tree was just as beautiful, but in a different way.

Yesterday had to have been one of the best days I've had in awhile. I woke up and was looking for new jobs when I saw that Buffalo Exchange was hiring! So from there I got dressed and went to Davis Square. Well, you cant go out for a job like that with out looking stylish, so I wore these amazing green shorts Ive been dieing to wear with a button down. Needless to say I totally have n interview with them next week. Here's some street style.

It was 57 degrees out yesterday! It really doesnt feel like winter. So I was lucky enough I only had to wear a blazer and tights. I have had that blazer for a long time now a friend of mine gave it to me. I also grabbed my D&B bag when I was in Florida last, probably my favorite purse next to my Coach bag.

Ive also really been into buttoned collars. I have a beautiful chest piece, and I like to show it off, but lately... I have been changing my mind on things, something about having a lot of tattoos and covering them up has been appealing to me a lot. Its a very clean look as well. I saw a photo where a lady had her collar buttoned and all these little necklaces, so I decided to try it out myself with a simple little black cat necklace.

The rest of my day was awesome. Adam and I hung out and sang Christmas songs all afternoon while he decorated his tree, which is lovely. I also found a copy of Life Aquatic for a dollar and finally found a vintage cape! Ive been dieing to get one for over a year now, and I found one for only four dollars! Adam's Christmas party was in the evening, that was a lot of fun! I won best dressed, though it wasn't official. So with yesterday's awesome outcome, I am defiantly feeling better about things. Its Christmas weekend! I hope everyone has a lovely holiday! Xoxo

A very Kimmie Christmas tree

After we got the tree up and lighted, I still had to wait a few days before I received my Christmas box from Florida. I had asked for some old ornaments my mom had picked some out and got me some new ones. Mary got me the cutest flamingo ones. I was shocked when I opened the box...stuff was falling out of it.

Some of the ornaments were from when I was a kid, the snowman paint stick, I made that in 1995.

Even Ronnie himself, said I had a beautiful tree.

I even got to put all my presents under the tree!

It took me 5 hours total to put that amazing tree together. I got home late the night my box arrived, like around 10:30, and was up all night working on it. I couldnt wait anymore, I was beyond excited. 3:30 am I finally finished.

So I havent had a lot of blog posts lately. I recently lost my job and have been laying extremely low, and being bummed out has totally taking all my inspiration for putting together something fashionable. Ive been wearing a lot of the same things. I also have got tattooed a lot lately and can only wear certain things because I got both my thys tattooed. Hopefully I will find a job soon, but in the mean time... my friends have been nothing but supportive and helpful. Adam helped me out in a huge way, and I am so thankful for having him around. We've also been watchin TV lately, did you know theres a show just about Trucks! Yeh, there is. Brant and Nikkie have also taken me in and just everyone has been really supportive. While my family is in Florida, they help as much as they can, but its nice to know I have real, good friends here.

Now that my tree has been revealed, its time to see Ronnie's! His party is Thursday, mine was Sunday... heres a sneak peek...

Alandale Farms

Now that I have revaeled my Christmas tree! I can finally talk about it haha. I am having a Christmas tree competition with Ronnie, and I had to keep a lot under wraps. A few days before we went and bought ours, I went with my adopted family Brant and Nikkie to Alandale farms to help pick out their tree. While I was there I was scoping them out and saw that the prices were right if all four of us in the house chip in. Later Simon, Ben and I went and picked out our tree.

I was really impressed with Alandale farms, they were very helpful and we got a 6 foot tree for $40! It was really cool to see all the different types of trees too.

Simon was lovely enough to take my photo, holding our tree! He actually found this one. Great job Simon!

Ms. Jill gave me her tree stand which was really helpful, so I didnt have to buy one. I was looking forward to having a tree so much. Our house really looks like Christmas. Xoxo!

Tattoo Wednesday

Its that time of week again. I think its ironically funny, that Ive started keeping up with this weekly post, and haven't had a good outfit post in awhile. Well I finally got my scimitar tattoo! This gentleman by the name of Peter Chile found me at the Behan and I made an appointment with him. He sent me some of the tattoos hes done and I was massively impressed, which doesn't happen often. I got the scimitar because its one of my favorite Floor songs, so this is now my second Floor tattoo.

Peter did a great job, I cant wait to get tattooed by him again. This will be my fourth weapon tattoo. I have the derringer, the tomahawk, the switch blade and now a scimitar.

This weeks tattoo is a personal little favorite of mine. There are two kinds of ladies, bag hags and shoe whores. I LOVE shoes! Always have. My shoe obsession all started years ago when my Grams went on vacation and sent me a post card of the Ruby Slippers. For some reason, I thought that meant she had bought them for me. Mind you I was 5 at the time. So when she got back, I was expecting to have THE Ruby Slippers. Sadly I didnt get them, but later that week, my mom ended up making me a pair! I made her do that for years. Ever since that post card, I can always remember loving shoes. I honestly cant remember anymore what made me decide to get them as a tattoo, but I love them!

This tattoo was done sometime last year, by Krystal Ralph at KnuckleDown Tattoos in Clearwater, FL. (She currently works at Ybor City Tattoo Company in Tampa, FL)

We later added the Tin Man's heart and the cyclone with Dorthy's house. We were suppose to add a few more things, but then I moved to Boston. I have a couple of tattoos by Krystal, and they are all my cool colorful ones.

Tattoo Wednesday!

Im so happy to be on top of things and have a new post out for Tattoo Wednesday! Last week, while Ronnie was away, I got a steak and cake tattoo. Here's the scoop. A few weeks ago, my roommate Ben caught my eating steak 4 times in one week and Id typically had a piece of cake after. He called me steak and cake one night, and it stuck from there. He told Simon, who told everyone at the Behan, which Ronnie (Adam) heard and now everyone calls me Steak and Cake. Because its so silly, Adam dared me to get it as a tattoo, and he'd pay for it. This is now my second tattoo Ronnie has paid for. That's what Kimmie likes!

Lucky was the only man to do it! I must have over 15 tattoos by him alone. I even got a custom steak color! Where I put the tattoo is also a big deal. Ronnie had to pick out everything, where it was going to go, who was going to do it, what the tattoo should look like. It had to go in my most visible spot... which left was my right forearm. I finally went past my invisible line.

Theres no real such thing as "Ronnie Plaid" haha, but in our little (lovely) world of Jamaica Plain, there is a man. A man who wears red and black flannel. We call him Ronnie. I was Ronnie for Halloween as a big joke, and it was really funny. Well, I just so happen to have loved the two colors red and black together for years. I have acquired 3 red and black plaid dresses, BEFORE I moved to Boston. The other day, I was trying to find something to wear to Bethany's birthday brunch and I grabbed one of my red and black plaid dresses while Ronnie was around. Well.... needless to say that didnt go over well. "Ah Kimmie! You cant wear that!" SO, I had to grab something else to wear.

Well in honor of Ronnie, I decided to do this lovely post just to mess with him haha! Here is my collection of red and black plaid dresses.

Back to Mt. Auburn

I think this is going to be a twice a year thing. This spring Simon took me to the Mt. Auburn cemetery to see the flowers bloom and it was beautiful. The cemetery itself is soooo old and gorgeous. Last timewe went he offered to take me picture for my blog and they came out great. Some of my favorite photos were taken there. We had talked about going back to see the leaves change for some time now but my schedule just got to full and it has been hard to find time. Even on days when I thought it wouldve been good to go, the weather wasnt nice. Last Thursday the weather was amazing and it was the perfect day to go back to Mt. Auburn.

Now I obviously wore jeans and a shirt to the cemetery, but the dress I choose to photograph was given to me by my friend Liz who recently moved away. It is an amazing vintage maxi DVF! (Diane Von Furstenberg). I threw on my vintage "Carrie" hat with a vail and we found some really cool mausoleums in a isolated spot.

Simon did such a great job. Its always nice not to have to take my own photo sometimes. I know you can hardly see but I did wear those amazing tassel earrings from Forever21. I wanted to add a belt to the dress, but its just so great on its own. Something like that, with a lot of print shouldnt be over accessorized.

Again thank you Simon for taking my picture! Well in the world of Lovely I think Im all caught up with stuff. I added all my photos on the Face but sometimes its hard to sit down for 2 hours and do everything, including blogging. I havent been to busy lately, but enough to keep busy. Ive been adding to my room slowly. Im still in dire need for hangers, I have a ton of stuff I brought back from Florida still folded and laying around. I got a new tattoo this week! I got a steak and cake tattoo. Ill have to post that next week for Tattoo Wednesday. Hope you all are doing well! Arent you just loving this weather? XOXO!

One crazy Halloween weekend.

So I dont know about you, but I had a crazy Halloween! It was one hell of a weekend. The weekend before, I threw a party at my house, and it was a huge success! I dressed up as a six year old, it was priceless. All four of us in the house cleaned and it was the best our apartment has looked, and will for awhile haha. Im glad a lot of my friends came out and everyone had a good time.

9:30am with a cold beer, hungover, and yeh... I wore that tacky outfit all day.

Friday Halloween weekend I went to BadVille South for their party! I dressed up as Ronnie (Adam) all weekend haha, it was the best idea I had. It was pretty easy to, especially after I got the JFK tattoo on my hand.

Florida part 2

So after I spent the first few days with my moms side of the family, over the weekend I saw all my dads side of the family and stayed with Aunt Dee over the weekend. I also did manage to sneak in some friend time and stayed one night with Jennifer Lynn, who stayed with my in Boston. It was great to see her, shes such a role model to me. Well friday I had beers and lunch with Grandpop and Mary! Finally some relaxing time haha. It was great to see both of them and Aunt Dee.

I hung out with my cat a lot, I miss her so much! Shes still the prettiest thing ever. My little panther cat.

I got back to my moms house for my last night in town. I tried on all the crazy awesome vintage I bought over the week and we had some fried chicken.

It was a great time, but all good things must come to an end and alas, I returned to Jamaica Plain. It was great to see all my family and go thrifting, but I am happy with my life in Boston. Hopefully, they can come see me next year! That would be something.

Florida part 1

So in October, I took a week off and went down to Florida, to see my family and do some serious thrifting. Its never a real vacation because I always end up exhausted from running all over town. This was the last time Ill see everyone before next year so Im glad I got to see all my grandparents, I finally got to meet little CJ and I got to see my baby girl Betty (the cat).

Of course the whole reason I went the week I did was because one of my favorite thrift stores, Sunshine Thirft, was having their 50% off day! Stuff that is already $3 and $4, only for $1 and $2! If by far one of my favorite stores.

Later that day, I had asked if we could all have a lunch date again. I loved going to lunches with Grams and Uncle Doug. We all got together and had lunch at Capital Grill.

Then later that night, my Aunt Becky came over with Steph, and Uncle Steve, and little baby CJ! He was born after I left FL last time so I hadnt met him yet. He is just the cutest thing ever.

That was just the first two days! When my mom picked me up from the airport, she brought me a cold PBR hahaha, that grams bought. That was awesome, a good welcome back. It was fun getting to see my mom and go shopping with her.

New stuff!

I, since my last post (sorry about that) have acquired so much new stuff!!! Ill get to it all little by little. I know my good Friend Jennifer Lynn has been waiting to see some of the things I bought when I was in Florida. Oh yeh thats right, I took a trip home to see my family.

First order of new business. I got new glasses finally! I have had the same prescription for over 3 years now and it was time. My grams bought me new ones, and honestly, she found them. Black ans red, my two favorite colors.

With new glasses comes a new look. I forgot how much I love layering. Ive really been into a kind of early 1990's grunge thing, with 1960's make up.

So the black and rose print is actually a dress. I found it at Sunshine Thirft, it was $1. I threw over my banana republic "favorite" sweater and threw on a belt I bought at Boomeranges. I thought about buzzing my hair one more time but it seems like winter is coming sooner that later. Im going to dye it soon, its defiantly time.

The Brendan Behan.

The Bredan Behan. Its a local pub in Jamaica Plain that I go to on a daily bases. It is one of my favorite places and one of the reasons why I moved to Boston and live in Jamaica Plain. I have met all my good friends there and have really become apart of the place. Seeing as how I spend so much time there, it was finally time to blog about it. I asked my friend Adam if I could take a few pictures the other morning and he of course said it was ok. I picked out 2 skirts to bring with me and grabbed my tri-pod. The Behan is a 5 minute walk from my house.... awesome.

I photographed the first skirt, which I had blogged about a long time ago already. I set up my tri-pod, got my remote and took a few. Well after I had done all that, I took a beer break and my friends Cassi and Miles came in! Cassi was so sweet she offered to take my photo for the next "session". These came out great!

All in all everyone had a laugh. Cassi thank you again so much for taking these for me, they came out great. I rarely have someone take MY photo so its always so lovely when someone offers to. After my "photo session" I had a few more beers and then I had to dash to the Swap that was Thursday night. If youre ever in town you should go to The Behan, its a great place. Ill probably be there drinking PBR out of my flamingo cup.

Flamingos in love.

If you dont know I love flamingos, its ok... but I do. I love them so much, Ive recently had a friend start giving me all this amazing retro flamingo stuff! They are also one of my favorite things to draw and paint. While my friend Jennifer was staying with me I had a short boost of motivation to paint and I did these two crazy love birds.

I have taken my love for flamingos and combined them with my love for Kimmie and Ronnie. There is nothing more sillier to me, I think, then flamingos with top hats and bows. Both paintings are for sale separately, but how could you break up such a lovely couple.

While the weather has been gloomy the last few days, it was gorgeous earlier this week. My trusty partner in crime Simon and I rode our bikes to the Arboretum on what was a lovely day. Simon always carries my tri-pod when we go "on location". There are a few spots we usually go to at the Arboretum but this time I took Simon to one of my new favorite spots. Since its somewhat fall, I had to wear something "fall appropriate" but seeing as how I only have so many of my dresses here in Boston, I decided to re-blog about this amazing navy blue, ethnic print dress.

I did this blog post in January of 2010. Wow I have gotten a lot of tattoos since then haha. That always cracks me up with I look at older photos, seeing how many tattoos I didnt have at the time. This dress will forever be amazing, and it was totally worth re-blogging.

Then.

Now.

Simon and I spent a good 2 hours there and caught all different kinds of light. Since no one was around I just left my camera set up while I took snack breaks or just laid in the grass. The Arboretum is so nice its hard to leave some times.

After a lovely afternoon we went to The Behan for a few beers. I always enjoy my adventure trips with Simon. As always, Im trying to keep busy, and still always behind on things. I have so many people I need to reply to and things to send out. Sometimes the world moves to fast for me. I have found so many neat things out and about the last 2 weeks as well, Im working on a blog post for that. I will finally have another vinyl post coming soon and hopefully more paintings!

If you have sent me something, or left me a lovely comment! Im getting to it, slowly... I appreciate all my readers, every day you read/check out my blog, it makes me so happy. I always hope that someone gets inspired by me. Also! I have had 77 followers for some time now, we can really make 80 happen!

The Kimmie Collection; Part 1.

Kimmie and Ronnie are the best stereotypical New England couple. When I heard about them, I died laughing and could not get enough of it. Well, Kimmie and Ronnie have just consumed me. My friends have been calling me Kimmie a lot. So I have decided to start the "Kimmie" collection. These will all be outfits that Kimmie would wear. I didnt want to give Kimmie her own blog, because we all know Ronnie aint takin her outfit photos. (Kimmie talks in third person a lot)

Kimmie decided she wanted to look super cute for Ronnie. This little number is something Kelly Bundy wouldve wore. Kimmie likes her dresses tight and short.

I love my "Kimmie loves Ronnie" tattoo. My friend Adam paid for it, my friend Bill drew it and my friend EdE tattooed it on me.

Kimmie is baking a cake for Ronnie today, because he's never had a red velvet cake before.

Im finally feeling like Im getting back into the swing of things. September is such a transitional month and theres just so much I want to get done. I finally went down to the basement and brought up my winter stuff. I am loving the weather, finally time to wear hoodies. I have been hanging out at The Brendan Behan a lot lately and making such the loveliest of friends. The Ronnie Dial Golf Tournament was this past Monday, and that was wild. With fall in the air, I cant wait for more good things to come. Xoxo everyone.

Finally getting to a new post after some much needed time away from blogging. I had some personal things to take care of and have been a hermit crab a lot lately. Well I am just finally starting to get back into a normal swing of things and feeling better so I decided to finally do a lovely blog post. The weather has been great, Ive been very lucky to have time off to enjoy it. The other day I went to the Arboretum with my roommate and best friend Simon, and we had such a great time. We went to another part of the park that I hadn't been to yet, and found some new photo spots! So I went back yesterday by myself and planned out a very lovely outfit. Something everyone has been wearing lately, a long black sheer shirt.

These were taken on the Explores Path, and no matter where I took a photo someone, creeped past me, I really thought I was in a secret spot.

This is what I wore while I was riding my bike around, that black dress is great it just folded up in my shorts. This was me testing the lighting and zoom.

I love my camera remote...

I was bothered less in an open field.

Outfit details:
I bought the skirt at Boomerangs in Jamaica Plain. I cut the lining that was in it before. The black dress under is a simple bandage dress from Forever 21. I liked the black poka-dot lace with the floral lace on the dress. I threw on a brown belt for some color and as far as shoes are concerned, they are not needed for walking around in grass. I have seen so many ladies styling this black sheer skirt look, and I have had the skirt for a few weeks now. I was really saving it for a good photo adventure like this. I also did my make up fully for the first time in a while.

So basically, John and I arent seeing each other anymore. It really sucks, because I ya know made a big deal about it on my blog, and now I feel slightly embarrassed to have to tell you that we arent together anymore. I started blogging more last January because I broke up with this awful person, and this was for me to do. I see so many awesome bloggers, favorites of mine with boyfriends and husbands and I would of course love to incorporate men in my life on here, but sometimes its best to just let things go with the flow. Anyways I was bummed out for a few days and just have been taking a lot of time to myself. My friend Jennifer from Tampa is tattooing up here and staying with me and its just been the best having her here. I am going to miss her, shes been a great addition to the house. Everyone has loved her and having her here. I feel awful for not blogging, but I just had to take some time away. I even took photos, but just wasnt pleased with anything I shot to show you all. Tattoo Wednesday. BAD VILLE

With last week being my birthday I missed out on Tattoo Wednesday, but to make up for it this week, I have a really good one to share with you.
Today's tattoo is my Bad Ville tattoo I got a few weeks ago. There were 19 people that have that tattoo at the time, I believe number 19 was just getting hers as Adam was talking me to about getting one. I would be number 20. So Adam gets a hold of me and I just walked down to the tattoo shop and had Johannes bang out Bad Ville number 20.

While I was at the shop, there was a photographer from Stuff taking pictures. He wandered into the bar and some how there were about 10 of us at The Behan that had a Bad Ville tattoo. We all hoped over to the tattoo shop and had a group photo taken. The issue of Stuff Magazine finally came out last week and our photo is awesome!

If you havent picked up a copy yet, get on it! Its a really cool issue in general. Photos taken all through out Boston. There are now 21 Bad Ville tattoos.

Rainy day greys

So I ended up getting th day off somehow... on a day I work a double. Its quite unheard of. After I found out I didnt have to go anywhere I just decided to lounge around today. I felt bad about not blogging if I was just sitting around. Today's rainy day grey outfit consists of an over size grey shirt/t-shirt dress, with a flowy cardigan, and cozy over the knee socks. I thew on my long eye glass necklace for a gold pop of color.

There is no need to sit around at home and not look some what stylish. I love all different shades of one color. On rainy days like this I like to wear lose flowy things and just relax. No need to wear high wasted shorts and be uncomfortable while sitting around. I might go up to the Behan later, all Ill throw on are my rain boots and grab my purse. Enjoy my lovely readers! Xoxo!

Birthday Dress: #23

Thursday the 11th I turned 23. Its not like 23 is a big deal year or anything but I am getting older. I talked to all my family, I got birthday packages from Florida! Ended up having the day off from work so I just took my time and went shopping and slowly got ready for my evening. I have always been a fan of really dressing up for your birthday.

This was my birthday dress when I was 4.

Well, its been 19 years since that. This was my birthday dress at 23.

Needless to say Ive totally toned it down from princess crowns and pink. I was originally going to wear my electric blue all sequins dress, but it was just to flashy for 10 Tables. I ended up going with my back up plan dress I bought at Revolve Clothing Exchange in Tampa, FL. I paid $60 for it which I know is ridiculous and I would never really do that all the time. Its the prefect 1960's mod dress.

I felt the need to buy new shoes for the evening and I went out and bought these high babies from Forever21.

I also bought these amazing fringe earrings that was $3.60. Im all about Forever21's cheap jewelry.

John took me to 10 Tables, for my first dinner there. I have been dieing to go for months. My friend Peter was so kind to make my birthday experience there ever so lovely. Dinner was delicious and John looked very handsome. I had a very lovely birthday dinner with him. At midnight before all that I was hanging out at the Behan with my friends and that was a lot of fun. Exactly what I wanted to do. I did miss having a birthday cake with my family, but Im a big girl now haha.

Back to the Secret Garden.

I have been very busy lately with work I really havent had much time to blog. I am making a lovely come back with these beautiful photos taken today in the secret garden. I bought this amazing vintage cream lace dress and knew I just had to go back to take photos in it. I was ready to hop the fence... but I found another entrance! My birthday was Thursday and with some of my birthday money I finally went and bought a wireless remote for my camera. Um... makes taking photos way more easy!!! I dont know why I havent bought one sooner. This dress was $6 at Goodwill.

I didnt want to wear a lot jewelry, my great grandmother Kay's necklace was the perfect piece for the dress. My mom has held on to it for years, but I convinced her to let me hold on to it, and I have proven to her I get much use out of it. I wear it a lot.

August has been flying by! I have been hanging out at The Behan a lot lately, enjoying the company of my friend in Jamaica Plain. Work has been crazy lately. I get out so late, then its such a trip back home, I dont get home till 12/12:30 some nights. The last thing I want to do it sit on my computer for hours. I just want to sit and relax and listen to my records. With that being said... I am not happy with myself for going this long with out a blog post. John and I have been having a really good time together. For my birthday dinner he took me to 10 Tables, and it was just ever so amazing. I have been painting again and working on other things I have on the side. I hope everyone else has been doing well! Ill be updating more later this weekend! Xoxo!

Tattoo Wednesday!

Today Im going to share with you my David Bruehl tattoo. I completely consider myself a collector of tattoos. I look for artist I want to get tattooed by and try to get a sweet tattoo by them. When I heard David was going to be coming to Tampa and tattooing at Redletter1 in Ybor, I jumped on the chance to get something by him. I have been a big admirer of his work, his color is really awesome. His paintings are always sharp looking. David was kind enough to fit me in and he was a really cool guy too! Very chill, very comfortable to get tattooed by, funny, and did a damn good tattoo on me.

At the time he came, I hadn't thought about the next tattoo I wanted and I was getting tattooed by him fairly quickly. I decided on a rose, because I really liked a lot of the flowers I had seen him do. I love the sharp contrast of black and yellow, so I got a sweet black and yellow rose.

Tattoo Wednesday!

Today Im going to talk about one of my very special tattoos. Today would be my Uncle John's 41st birthday, but sadly he passed away a few years ago. My Aunt Alicia also passed away a bit before him. So I was just starting to get into tattoos when he passed, I maybe had 2 or 3 at the time. Well I told Lucky I really wanted to get memorial tattoos for my family and after a full day of looking at things, Lucky finally came up with something simple, bold and lovely. Roses with sparrows. In the tattoo world, sailors used to get swallows or sparrows because they carried the souls of their loved ones with them, so I got one for Alicia and John, so I will always have them close to my heart.

This was when it was first done! It was my 3rd or 4th tattoo at the time.

It is one of my favorites and its very special to me. Over the few years my chest has expanded into a great collection of work by Lucky Mathews.

With the spider webs being my latest addition.

My amazig trip to York, Maine!

Over the weekend, I took a little trip up to York, Maine! Before I get more into that, you should know who I went with. For the last week or so Ive been seeing this gentleman by the name of John, and he is just my cup of tea. A perfect gentleman to the core, he has been a great new addition to my everyday life. We've gone out a couple of times and one night over dinner I had mentioned I wanted to check out York's Wild Kingdom! Well, John being as awesome as he is (and having a car!) said we should go! Saturdays are my full day off, so the date was set and the trip was a go! I took the train out to Lowell and he picked me up, then we drove out to Maine. It was about a 2 hour drive, we had a nice time, I could talk to him for hours, or sit in silence and enjoy his company.

We got to the zoo and lets just say it was adorably goofy. I loved it. I actually couldnt believe I had actually gone either lol.

John paid for my ticket, bought lunch, showed me around. It was a really fun time. The zoo itself was a bit small so we finished it pretty quickly. Afterwords, the plan was to go to the coast and check out the beach. That was mega cool! Being from Florida going to the beach is a big deal for me up here. It was awesome!

Knowing that I had a blog, John was oh so kind enough to take my photo, and did a good job of it as well.

After the beach we went and got food then made the ride back home. John ended up staying with me over the night, we hung out, bought a ton of beer and just relaxed for the rest of the time. My first trip to Maine was a huge success! I had great company. I do believe John is a keeper lol. I cant wait to go back, Maine was such a lovely place with tons of antiques and the freshest air ever haha.

The secret community garden

So there are two community gardens down my street, and as you all saw I got to go in one... but the other one has always been locked! Well, I was just going to hop the fence, but it was unlocked to my surprise! The lighting was lovely, I had the perfect dress, it was photo time!

You can see my newest tattoo, all healed up!

This garden was way bigger and so much better than the other one. It was well worth the wait to get in and sneak some outfit photos. Didnt I tell you I had the perfect dress? My friend Ashley gave it to me a few years ago, and Ive held on to it for awhile and brought it to Boston with me when I went back for a visit. It shows off my back piece which I hardly ever get to do.

I had a great time taking these photo. Playing with my dress, smelling the flowers, there were even raspberries! I didnt pick any thought, because that is rude, not cool. It was a very humid day so the wind on my back felt really good. I went down to Newbury street in the dress to pick up my necklace from Tiffanys. I had them clean it, no charge! With a forest green color like my dress, brown accents are nice, so I chose to wear my brown leather Coach bag. Ive also been into layering necklaces (length wise) Mary sent me the long sliver chain, that I paired with my rose quartz heart necklace my Aunt Dee bought for me.

I have been working like crazy lately, and been charming boys left and right apparently. I went out on a date for the first time in months with a very charming gentleman Monday night, and it was ever so lovely. After my last attempt to date someone, he was a breath of fresh air. Things went so well we're having dinner again tonight. Im cooking! What shall I wear?!?!!?

Tattoo Wednesday! (Its coming back!)

Sooo!!! A very long while ago I started Tattoo Wednesday. Well I got two posts in and I dont know what happened. I think it might have been around the time I moved to Boston and I just lost track of it. Well I have gotten a few more tattoos since I left Florida and now living in the City, I get asked about them even more! My fantastic roommate Sam had suggested I do something with my blog regarding my tattoos, and I was like, "OMG! I started something like that ages ago!" I am happy to say I will be doing tattoo posts every week now. I had originally planned to do them in order, but I honestly cant remember after 5 years what came next. So Im just going to randomly pick a tattoo.

Today's tattoo is my newest one! I finally got an Angelique Houtkamp tattoo. I discovered her a few years ago when my friends Lucky and Ed had showed me some work of hers. I bought her second book Tattoo Mystique and found her "Augusta" picture. LOVED IT! Had to have it.

After a long awaited time, I finally found the artist to do it. Justin Kopec at Fat Ram's Pumpkin Tattoos in Jamaica Plain. He did an amazing job. (There was a ton of black involved and it was a bit crusty)

It is now finally healed and looks great. None of the black fell out and she looks very sexy next to Panther.

-How long did it take?
About an hour and a half/two hours.

-Did it hurt?
YES. Especially close to my knee.

Im feeling very accomplished with my tattoos, Ive been getting some really good ones lately. This tattoo defiantly put me over the 45 mark.

The New England Aquarium.

Not to long ago I finally went to the New England Aquarium. Well, lets just call it what it is, it wasnt the most impressive aquarium. The Florida Aquarium is way better. I still had a good time though. I went with Katie and Simon and we had a lovely day out. It was gorgeous outside and wasnt too hot. So when I went back home to Florida in March I bought this amazing swimsuit that I had been dieing to wear for when I finally went to the aquarium. I even threw on my seahorse necklace my mom bought me for Christmas.

When you first walk in , there are penguins, every where.

I love moray eels.

These jelly fish were crazy cool.

So my top was so awesome it was day-glow-rific.

I got a lot of looks at the aquarium, but really when do I not. I tried 3 different pairs of shorts before I settled on my black ones, though high waisted denim worked well with the top as well. The sides of my sunglasses matched well too. So the trip was a success, I finally went to the aquarium. With the 4th of July weekend upon us, I have some awesome American outfits planned. Community Garden.

A few days ago Simon and I went on a little trip to the pond. As lovely as it was, the lighting wasnt very choice there so outfit photos were probably not gonna happen, though I looked very cute. I had just cut my bangs back into pin up style. Well, on out way home, the community garden was open! I have been dieing to pop in and look at everything. It was well worth the wait. There were so many flowers! As well as all kinds of fruits and vegetables.

So I was going for this 1960's french pin up look. The striped shirt, is the first striped shirt Ive worn in years. I like tiny stripes, it made my shirt look almost grey-ish. Topped off with a bright red bandanna.

I even brought Chanel out.

It was a successful and stylish trip. I love black and white with bright, bold red accents. Well! I got a new tattoo today! Adding yet another artist to my lovely collection. I had my knee tattooed a bit and let me tell you it didnt feel awesome. Im glad its over. Looks amazing thought. Its only Tuesday and the week is already looking up. My friend Ed-E is in town from Florida! So I will be seeing him for the next 2 weeks! Take it easy my lovely readers! Xoxoxo!

Brunch for Simon.

This past weekend I had told my roommate Simon I would make us brunch because Ive had this bottle of champagne just sitting in our fridge, and the only real thing to drink with it was to make mimosas! Obviously he was down. Well Saturday came and I didnt make it home in time, so Sunday, around 1 in the afternoon, we were just sitting around and I decided to make brunch. I had Simon run out to the store and grab a few things while I cleaned up the kitchen and started getting things ready. It was time for brunch!

Looks delicious right? Scrambled egg/omelet thing with red, green, and orange bell peppers, onions, spinach, goat cheese and a little bit of love.

Simon has to admit it, Im a pretty damn awesome roommate, I did everything! 1950's style. I was more than happy to do this for us. Ive really been much happier with my living situation.

The end result! I even garnished the plate with extra veggies, and fresh cut strawberries. Its all about the presentation.

Simon said it was soooo good. It was a simple meal to make, but it was a lot of fun. We drank that whole bottle of champagne too haha. If you're in town and want brunch, hit me up haha! The good, the bad and the Lovely.

I have been so busy lately I havent had time for outfit photos! I finally got around to it and set up the camera outside on my balcony. It was a gorgeous day out and the lighting was nicely shaded. I bought the shorts in these photos in Florida and they are my favorite shorts at the moment. I decided to wear something more night time appropriate at first, then had to have the "good" version of it. So for today, you get to see the good, the bad and the Lovely side of things.

So now I have 2 cross rings that I will wear all the time! I also finally painted my nails this awesome mint color I bought at Forever21 for like $2.80. Love it! Also finally fixed my bangs to look better that they were. I have shaved both sides of my head now and it feels great!

I dont know how some other bloggers do it, make the time for everything. I work such weird hours now that when I get home I just want to enjoy the fact that Im home and relax. I had fun taking photos again. The concept was fun. I try to have a plan of attack when I get dressed. There should be a theme for every outfit. I hope everyone else has been doing good and staying out of trouble! I will be getting into plenty of that this weekend. Enjoy! XOXOX!

The Red House farmers market

Working at The Red House has been an experience thats for sure. Always something new coming your way. Well, The Red House and Charlies Kitchen (owned by the same owners) has their own certified organic farm, and the Harvard Square farmers market is back open for business. If you havent been, you should defiantly check it out. Its every Friday in the square, 12-6. My friend Jesse of Boston Bites ( <--- Click to go to his food blog!) has been running it with another co-worker from Charlies Kitchen. I decided to go support The Red House and check out the lunch sandwiches they made.

Mt. Auburn Cemetery (part 2)

Here is the second half of my trip to the Mt. Auburn Cemetery. Since Simon had agreed to take my photo, and I knew I was going to a place that was picture perfect, I threw an extra outfit in my bag. The photos turned out great, we waited and picked the perfect spot. It was like a Grecian heaven.

The flowers were sooooooo beautiful!

Simon did such a great job I was so happy he took my photo. We had a lovely trip and even had some snacks while we were there.

So I have been working soooooo much lately. I also just moved into my new apartment. On top of everything I got sick last weekend too so there was just so much going on. I havent had much blog time with work and brunch dates all the time now. I am now working blogging into my new schedule and adjusting to that slowly. I love my new apartment and living situation. I love my job at the Red House because of all the good people there. Things have been really good for Lovely lately, just no time! I hope everyone has been doing just as lovely! Xoxo.

Mt. Auburn Cemetery.

So a few weeks ago I went to finally check out Mt. Auburn Cemetery with my roommate Simon. It was his idea and it was a great one. I had so much fun and he even offered to take my photo on this adventure. He's such a good friend. This cemetery was A. HUGE. B. Gorgeous. and C. Old. I was in awe the whole time I was there. While walking up this hill we came across this amazing tree and took a drink break there.

There were soooooo many graves! It was a very expensive and old cemetery.

Simon kept saying we were walking towards this massive tower and when we finally got to it, it was a sight to see. We climbed all the way up top and let me tell you, the view was amazing.

You could see so much from the top. There were just so many graves, we came across this huge Celtic cross, being Irish this was pretty cool.

So we got there around 12, and we didnt leave till 4:30. We spent sooooo much time there! I have over 100 photos it was very hard trying to decided which ones to use so I had to split this post up into 2 parts. Stay tuned for part 2!

The Arboretum

Last week I went to what I might call the most beautiful place in Jamaica Plain, right down the street from my house. I went to the Arboretum, and its this HUGE park, or some might call it a zoo for trees. It was GORGEOUS! I went on a beautiful day with my friends Simon, Andrew and even Tegan joined us. With beer and snacks in tow, we spent the afternoon laying in the grass and enjoying the trees. Some were just breath taking. Some spots of the park looked like unicorns once lived there.

These pictures dont do the park justice at all, but you can kinda see what I mean, this place is gorgeous. I have since gone back 3 times now and plan on going back a lot more. Its right down the street! I took Katie there the other day, we also had 2 beers and some strawberries. There were so many great places to sit down and so many spots for outfit photos! Easter treasures

So catching up, here are my Easter photos! Easter this year I did not go to church, it was the first year. I went and spent Easter with Tegan's lovely family again and let me tell you it was awesome. I did miss my family and my looking for my Easter basket, but dinner was just delicious. 5 star quality if you ask me. Mary also sent me Easter stuff, which made me feel really happy and I even got some Publix cookies!!! The best cookies, straight from Florida. Easter is the one holiday I really try not to wear dark colors for or black, I go out of my way to look "clean cut". I found this dress, it was chosen out of 3, and it was just perfect.

That purse was only $2 at a thrift store in Florida. I almost didnt buy it but Im so glad I did, it was a huge success at dinner. It is a great spring purse.

The necklace Im wearing was given to me by Mary, it was her mother's. The colors in it matched perfectly with my dress! I also wore my Gram's purple butterfly pin, so I had my family present with me.

Easter was so lovely, it was a gorgeous day out as well. I called my family back home and got to talk to them. Its weird being away for the holidays now, but Tegan's family is always so welcoming. I hope you all had a lovely Easter as well! XOxo my lovely readers!

Wow I havent been up with this at all. I am an awful blogger at the moment. To much to catch you up with but needless to say I had to take some time away and regroup. Life in the fast lane has been moving a little to fast for me and sadly my blog had to take a back seat. Just because I havent posted anything doesnt mean I havent been taking outfit photos! I have some lovely posts coming up. With that, did anyone else in the Boston area notice how much rain we got? It truly was April showers. In between the rain, I managed to sneak up to the roof to capture a sweet interview outfit. The top, I bought at Second Time Around on Newbury Street, it is one of my favorite button downs, I love the ruffles.

It was time to head back inside and head out! I threw on my favorite faux motorcycle jacket.

This jacket is so awesome. My Grams bought it for me years ago at a Wet Seal that was closing, it was on sale, and it only cost $8!!!! I wore the heck out of it when I lived in Florida and I brought it back up here with me, and have been wearing it everywhere. The funny thing is, a lot of my friends thought it was real hahaha, its just vinyl! I love it.

I looked so sharp, I nailed the job interview and I am now serving at The Red House in Harvard Square. If you're around the Cambridge area, Ill be serving beers outside on Fridays! So in the mists of catching up with my blog, I hope that my readers are still sticking around even though Ive had a long hiatus. I hope you all are doing well and are staying out of trouble! Quick and casual

Just going to keep it quick and casual today. In efforts to stay out of trouble, Ive been keeping it really low key lately. Ive been doing a lot of bike riding, which has been wonderful. Also with the weather getting some what nicer, its been really lovely sitting up on the roof a lot more. Ive been catching up on reading, enjoying the sunshine and hanging out with friends. The other day my friend Simon came over and we had some beers on the roof. It was sooooo nice out side!

When I do an outfit post I try to keep it fashionable, there are standards to my post. Then I think, its every day wear. I dont dress up every day haha. Ive been going through a change in style lately, but what always remains, black jeans and a t-shirt. Classic never go out lol.

Even the simplest of jeans and shirt can be stylish. I figured throwing on my fancy sunglasses it would help but sometimes a Leftover Crack shirt just stands on its own. Tip on the Tightrope

Fashion inspired by Janelle Monae! I have been in love with her style. Ive actually been more of a fan of her fashion sense before I gave her album a chance. Now Im a big music fan as well. Her look combines my love for black and white and suits. She takes my "Specials" look to a fancier level. I was listening to her music yesterday and had to get dressed up. I even found a new place to take photos where no one will bother me! The basement!

I am so happy with how these came out. I tried a few different spots in the house but the lighting wasnt as good. The basement had perfect lighting. It had enough back light so that I could use a flash and it look bright, and it also had a light facing the direction I was in which was perfect for not using a flash. You gotta tip on the tightrope!

The best part about being in the basement was no intruptions. No one came down there, I had no creepy guys standing to watch me take photos. I could actually just take a picture, look at it real quick then keep going. Only took 20 minutes! The only thing is I get so into it and start having a good time I want to keep going. I suck at picking out photos, its hard for me not to put like 20 all on here. The more time I spent taking pictures, the harder it wouldve been to choose what got posted. Well here are a few with out the flash. A completely different look, even more sultry.

So yeh, its safe to say these came out great! Janelle Monae and The Specials are constant inspirations to my daily style. I love when I break out of my normal routine of wearing black jeans and a band t-shirt.

What a hot mess

Oh my goodness. What a whirl wind of a week its been. I finally had to clean my room. I had just so many clothes on the floor that I couldnt find anything because it was all black and grey haha. My closet was becoming a black hole of things. I found so many cardigans in there that I totally forgot about. So I havent had time or a chance to do a post lately, but after seeing how bad things got, its kind of understandable. So I will now show you the before and after photos!

Oh my goodness you can see the floor!!! So I spent all of Wednesday morning going through everything. I got rid of a ton of stuff too finally. I also decided to put up my aprons. The yellow one my mom bought for me at a flee market and the other one is my great grandma's.

I really feel like Ive made my room completely home. Its full of stuff! Haha, just how I like it. Hey hey hey! Hope everyone has been going good! Its been a little rocky for me. Up and down. I took a long bubble bath this morning, stopped by the tattoo shop and saw Justin, and went to the grocery store. My friend Chris is in town recording for the new Big D and the Kids Table album! He's been staying with me and I made him dinner last night, at like 1am haha. Its been nice having his company. We even went for a walk around the pond because it was so nice out today.

With the sun shining, it was hard to be bummed out and stay inside. So I cheered myself up, put on one of my favorite dresses and took some cool photos on the roof!

Im still so in love with my hair, Im going to have more taken off the next time.

Aside from what happened that made me sad, Ive actually been doing really good. Ive been working really hard lately, and staying real busy. Keep busy, keep out of trouble. Ill be working at our 324 Newbury location starting this Thursday! Just one day a week, but Im so excited to be working with those ladies again. Im very proud of myself for continuing to paint, Ive been doing some really good paintings lately. Ive also been getting into some new music and updating my itunes. I am in love with Empire of the Sun. Ill also be going to see FLOOR April 15th with two very awesome guys, Tom and Shaun from Sonic Titan! Thats gonna be heavy as shit! Hey everyone!!! Im finally getting to an outfit post!!! I know this blog is suppose to be about fashionable things, and I like to mix in other stuff, but I know Ive gotten away from street style. I have just been so busy. I went home for a visit, had tons to do, I get back to Boston and Ive literally had something to do every single day since. Its been a real whirl wind. Honestly I havent even been looking that fashionable. My "on the go" clothes are usually jeans, my boots, and a shirt of some kind. Ive been feeling really bad about my look to lately. It was my hair that was driving me nuts. I wasnt into it anymore and when that happens I dont like anything else.

I have been lucky enough to become really good friends with the ladies up stairs and we've been talking about cutting my hair, and Ive been thinking about what I wanted to do because Im still growing it out. Ive always wanted to shave some of my hair off.... I went up stairs last night to see the girls and had Jillian cut my hair. Also, you ALL must know how much I LOVE FLOOR!!! So.... I had this done. (Mom, Grams... Im sorry, I love you guys.)

Jillian works at Alfred's hair salon which is located on 8 Eliot St, Harvard Square; Cambridge. The number to the salon is 617-497-5009. Call! Get them to do your hair, they are all so great at it. She did such a great job, and it was such a great experience. She really makes you feel good while you're getting your hair done. I had so much fun hanging out with Jillian and Alex last night. So today, it said its suppose to snow again. Boo on that. I decided to beat the snow and take some photos outside on the roof. It was so grey outside! I wore this gorgeous tropical dress I bought in Florida. It brightened up my day, and it feels so nice to have an outfit post up!

Ugh it feels so nice to have new hair! The best part is, I can fold over my hair, and it looks normal! Cant even tell its shaved underneath. I had a rocky weekend... I was really angry and then a bit upset, but now Im back to good, positive thoughts and Im rockin and rollin. Sometimes its good to take a few steps back from something (or someone) to see the bigger picture, and realize if you miss them. So Saturday night, as I said I went and saw 2 bands James is in. First up was Asyna Asayn then I finally got to see Mammox live! Im back in Boston, but I have been so busy these past few days! So Im finally finishing up with all my photos from Florida. I had a really great weekend back home. I got to stay on the beach! We went to the ren. fair and had a blast. It was my first year getting to drink "legally" there, so I of course had a great time. It was fun to see how big thats getting. I got to see my cat and play with her which was so great.

On Monday my mom, Grams and I went thrifting, but stoped for lunch at the best place ever! Cracker Barrel.

The food here is so awesome. Its good southern food. Hard to find up here in the Northeast.

I didnt really have much time to do anything else excpet see family and get stuff together. Thrifting was a big deal for me, its so great in Florida, the one day I did have to do whatever, I spent it shopping. I bought a ton of stuff, a ton of vintage lingerie/slips and such. I got all my roommates something too. I missed those guys a lot. Im glad I went home, but it made me realize how much better my life is in Boston and why I moved here. Im here to stay.

The night I got back I was exhausted and just hung out at home. The next day though, I did another blogger interview! Then Ive had 2 shows to go to! I have a ton of band photos coming your way soon! I went and saw Asyna Asayn and Sonic Titan Wednesday night, and last night I saw Asyna Asayn and Mammox live finally! Had a great time. Hope everyone else has been doing good! Hey everyone! I dont know where you are, but Im back home in Florida visiting! The weather has been really nice, though I wish it was warmer. I had my mom pick me up from the airport so I got to see her first! The first thing we did, was go thrifting!!!! It is sooo cheap and awesome down here. We went to one of my favorite places called Sunshine Thrift. I got some cute scores! Then we went and had lunch and continued to her house. Grams made dinner and margaritas. It was nice to see my family and hang out.

Thursday me mum and I went to our favorite place, the secret place. Tho I didnt find any sweet purses, I scored the coolest dress! Thursday I also went to my old house where all my stuff was and packed it all up. I only took with me what I could fit/squeeze into 2 suitcases... which are extremely heavy lol. It was really hard choosing what to bring back with me, what was most important. I grabbed as many of my owls as I could, got my FLOOR box set back, and was very selective as to what vintage got to come back with me. It was hard but I got it done and now I can really move forward.

Friday I got to see Mary for a bit. She went out of her way to bring us food and snacks and even a case of PBR hahaha, for the beach house this weekend. Thank you just isnt enough, shes a really great lady. The beach has been awesome, Ive missed it.... but Ive totally forgotten how to relax and sit for an hour and do nothing haha. I miss the city. I miss Jamaica Plain. But all that aside, Ive been enjoying everything. So its Sunday and Im spending my last day on the beach, and its just beautiful outside.

Sonic Titan 3-5-2011

So Sonic Titan is starting to become my "Torche" band in Boston. A band Ill always want to go see. I was over at Jame's house Saturday when he told me that they were having another basement show/party. Needless to say my excitement rose. James and I cooked this awesome dinner, more like James cooked and I helped out lol. Then we proceeded to go downstairs once everyone got there. The show was awesome!!!! I had such a great time rockin out and hanging out with all my friends.

Hey everyone! Hope all has been well with everyone. Ive just been busy as usual with work and hanging out. Same stuff, just going non-stop. Things at work are well again. This Sunday, I re-did the window displays for St. Patrick's Day! It was some what of a challenge because we only had so many green and white outfits that would fit the mannequins. There are 7 mannequins to be dressed. It took a long time, I pretty much had to wait till close to finish them.

Finally! I finally had a guy help me take photos for my blog. How awesome it is too! James was very helpful last night when I came over. I looked really cute from coming over from Hollys and asked if he wouldnt mind taking a few photos for my blog. He was happy to help. He is really into photography as well so he has an eye for taking a good picture. I was very pleased with how these came out. Typically when I take outfit photos it takes forever to get a few good ones. I have to set up the camera, then time it out, run in front of the camera, pose, then go back and look at it to make sure it came out alright. That over and over, it takes me 45 minutes sometimes to take 50/60 photos to have maybe 15/20 good ones to use. With his help, it took a little over 5 minutes.

I am so happy with these! Thank you James!

He even figured out how to turn my tri-pod sideways so I can now again take long full outfit shots.

A total success these are. I will defiantly use his assistance again. I had such a lovely morning it was hard to say goodbye. I got stuff done today though! I drew out some new things to paint, and am planning a trip to Michaels arts and crafts tomorrow to buy the paint colors I need. Yes it will be a trip because its an hour away on the T. Im very proud of myself for painting more lately. I have been working on a new flash board and its starting to come along nicely. Ive just been inspired a lot lately which is always a good thing. Officially in one week Ill be home visiting in Florida! Im so excited to see my family and go thrifting. All in all things have been going well, just same stuff, working, hanging out and keeping busy. I hope everyone else is keeping out of trouble! Spring is in the air, we can all feel it coming soon!

Last night I went to my best friends Holly and Gregor's for some much needed hang out time. First comment, "Leigh! Your hair has gotten so long!" I know, its growing really fast. I had such a great time with them, as I always do. Gregor got the PBR and made us the most delicious grilled cheese. I got to catch up with them, tell them about James and of course Holly and I talked about a ton of blog stuff haha. I always love going over there to see what she has to show me. She always has the coolest sites up!!!

Ok, so there were a TON of photos taken!!! And I suck at picking out just a few. When I say a ton, there were 113. So! New tattoo

Hey everyone! Lots going on! In my last post I had mentioned that I got a new tattoo. I finally finished off my chest for now with spider webs. Not that any of you can see but I have roses tattooed on the sides of my boobs. I wanted to finish them off and when I went to my friend Lucky, he ended up drawing up my chest to my collar bone and made what was suppose to be a small tattoo, into something amazing.

He did an amazing job, as he always does. He has now done my entire chest and torso.

Oh this one hurt for a bit. He knocked it out in one hour and 40 minutes. Works quickly. It is a great new addition to my collection.

Gettin Fancy

Hey everyone! Its been awhile. I have just been busy with the usual. Work, social life, hanging out, getting a new awesome tattoo. Works been good, we're finally clearing out all our winter stuff and are accepting spring consignment. Thats been really fun going through all these awesome spring clothes. Its been nice getting to really experience seasons up here, but Im over winter now. Its to long! Today is my day off and Ive just been catching up with things, working on the blog. I finally have blog buttons for everyone to copy! Took forever to figure it out but had some help from James last night, and I worked on it this morning. Also, like the new header? I do! Time to move forward from winter and snow. So I couldnt pick out just one outfit today. Nothing was really inspiring me. I decided to clean my room and as I was going through things, I re-found a few awesome long gowns I have gotten since I moved to Boston.

So today I decided to play dress up and show off 3 dresses, all of which I got at this place called Boomerangs, which is right down the street from my house. So they have this one rack, where they moved certain items that have been there for awhile, and make it $1. Yes thats right, $1. So these 3 dresses, were all ONE DOLLAR! What a steal.

So this dress, amazing right! SO vintage! The only thing is, is theres a stain on the front. Im either going to cut it and make it shorter, or add some kind of embellishment to it.

The only thing wrong with this dress was the velvet was starting to fade a little, no big deal.

And my personal favorite. Nothing like a stunning black gown.

...and on those cold winter nights, you can snuggle up to me anytime handsome.

So for the other two dresses I wore heels, but this dress was long enough to the floor I didnt have to, seeing as how I stand on my tippy toes all the time. I just thought this was cute.

Im loving my hair and how fast its growing out. I pinned it up today and it looked so pretty. I always have fun when I play dress up. I really dont know where on earth Ill wear these dresses but I own them, because the are beautiful and needed a great loving home. Im a sucker for gowns and glamor. Things have been really good though. James and I have been kickin it for a month now, which is just nice considering all the goofy first dates I went on when I first moved to Boston. We made dinner last night, it was delish! Katie, our new roommate, is turning out to be a great fit. I just adore her. Shes a great new addition to the house. Can anyone else believe how fast February is flying by??? The month is almost over, and Ill be in Florida in 2 weeks!!! I cant wait to go home and visit. No big plans for the weekend, just hanging out at home and kickin it. We've all really gotten into playing bridge at home so Ill probably work on my cards skills later. Valentines Day!

Hope you all had a good Valentines day! I wish I could say I did, but I ended up working open to close a lone, then came home to an empty house. So I got drunk and ordered chinese from Food Wall. It was an extremely long day and I was just glad for it to be over. I wasnt all hung up on Valentines day gush, just tried from work. Things are better now. I finally got the day off and Ive been doing good by catching up on everything.

Well I did get all dressed up for work.

I got home after a long night and had 2 boxed from Florida waiting for me. Totally made me whole day awesome. Mary sent me a TON of Valentines Day candy, my teeth are gonna rot! Haha. Awesome pink bubble wrap too.

Friday the 11th I went and saw one of Jame's bands called Asyna Asayn at the PA's Lounge in Somerville. Needless to say, I was blown away by all their musical talent. The show was really awesome and a lot of fun. I got to hang out with some new friends Ive made through Tegan and Jason with out them being there, it was cool getting to hang with Nate and Dan. Ive really been happy with my new friends up here. It just keeps getting better.

So sometime last week one night, Tegan and I were doing some drinking and got the best idea ever to get dressed up and take photos for my blog. Ive been dieing to get here into this with me and needless to say we had a total blast. She put on one of her Grammy's dresses and looked so pretty! I put on this new top that I had gotten. Im dieing to wear warmer clothes!

I pretty much look forward every day to going home and seeing Tegan, and when Im off from work and home, I cant wait till 4 for her to get home. Im so glad we've been hanging out and having a great time. It was a lot of fun to get her into doing this with me. I set up my tri-pod in the corner and gave her the count down. So after a few glasses of wine, this is what best friends do late at night haha.

Then it was time to bring Chad the camel into the picture. He's like our house pet.

Getting to hang out with Tegan is awesome. Goodness Ive been working a lot lately. I went to New York on Saturday, got back Sunday morning and went to work to close. Then Monday I worked open to close a lone, its just been a looooong week haha. Im finally catching up on things. Im off today and tomorrow and I have some of my friends coming over tonight for some beers and hanging out. Lately my other roommate Jason has got us all playing bridge. Have you played??? It gets really confusing when you bid but its a fun game. Ive been getting better at it. My mom finally sent me Uno cards, we played last night once James came over. We also ended up sucking him into bridge as well haha. Also in some good news, Ill be back visiting Florida in 3 weeks now. Im so excited to see me family and a few of my good friends. I can not wait to go shopping and spend some time on the beach.

So a few posts back I introduced you all to the two flamingos in my room. On one of the 4 days off I had last week I got really dressed up at home and ended up taking some sweet outfit photos. I even curled my hair some and made a new pipe cleaner headband! Im in love with all the ones Ive been making.

My boss Kim really liked how I posed like the flamingo. I like it.

I just feel like both my makeup and hair were really on and nothing tops an outfit like a great smile.

All in all things have been good. Ive just been working a ton, no days off this week and the one day off Im heading to New York for Fashion Week with Jessy Baum and then I gotta be back in Boston to work Sunday and get tattooed later that night. Long week needless to say. At work we had out big midnight madness sale finally. Thank god thats over, it was really stressful getting ready for it, which sucked because it wasnt crazy busy at all. Sorry I really dont have to much to say tonight, my brain has pretty much shut down. Oh I finally got laundry done, that was a big deal for me hahaha, like any of you care lol. Hey everyone! So!!! Saturday (the 5th) I went over to Jame's house where they were having a basement party/show! I saw the coolest band Sonic Titan play, they blew me away. I had called Tegan earlier in the day to bring over my camera so I could take pictures. Something many of you might not know... I used to do band photography for over 2 years. Its been a while and it was way before I started blogging, but I finally got back into it! I still got it!

That party was AWESOME!! I ended up having a great time and my awesome roommate even came out. I got to meet some cool new people and see some other folks Ive become friends with. Earlier in the evening James and I were just hanging out and really didnt want to go to the party, but Im glas we did, because we had a great time. Girls night!

Last night was girls night for Tegan and myself. We kicked Jason out of the living room and girled out. A few days ago, my grandma Mary had sent me a box filled with amazing jewelry and a card with some cash in it. The card read, for Tegan and I to buy a bottle of wine, order in and go through everything she sent me. Well I couldnt wait so Saturday night we went through it a little bit. There was so much I didnt know what to do! Mary is so awesome. So to thank her in a special way, we agreed to take photos of us going through the jewelry.

Flamingos in love

Tis the month for love! Ive been sooooo happy lately that I finally got around to painting flamingos on my wall. With this dismal weather Ive been dieing to have something funny and sunny to look at when I wake up. These flamingos in love were the perfect thing! I tackyed up my wall with hearts and yellow poka dots!

This was soooo much fun to paint!

Ps... Im not living out of a suit case anymore, I finally got shelves to put my stuff in.

I will continue with the wall later when I think of what else I want to put up there, but for now, these flamingos are so awesome. Every morning Ive waken up they have made me so happy! Everyone was hanging out in my room too when I painted, which was awesome to have people hanging out. Things have been so good lately. Hey everyone! Staying warm? I am. Its been a doozy of a week weather wise. Since Tuesday, Ive had so much time off from work. Its been nice, but money wise it sucks. Ive been getting a lot done! No ones home during the day so I usually take that time and do fun dress up stuff for my blog. So Im in love with The Specials. I have a Specials tattoo, I could listen to them every day. Ive been rocking these sweet suspenders lately and I bought this nice simple white button down. Ive literally been wearing this ska-tastic outfit for days.

So those were all so much fun to take! I had a blast goofin around and balancing on our awesome tub. Although these were fun, I took a few shots in the hall way. Ive probably worn this outfit 3 times in the last 8 days. Its so "This is England" circa 1986. I love that old english style, classic, simple but bold.

Being snowed in the last 3 days has been fun. Ive got to hang out with my new flame. James has been a great new addition to my life, the house and our inner circle of people we hang with. The other day I painted a huge mural on my bedroom wall (pictures soon!) Weve been hanging out in my room the last few nights to and thats been fun. Ive really been enjoying my time with Tegan and becoming best friends with her. Been working on some new side projects. Went and did some modeling the other weekend (post coming up!) and that was so awesome. Natalia was such a great photographer and I feel like Ive made a new friend in her. Goodness Ive been feeling so much better lately. Less stressed out! Happier! Wearing lots of red lipstick and easing off facebook. I finally decided I couldnt take my bangs anymore being swooped to the side anymore, I finally blunt cut them straight. I always forget to take photos of the before and after so I finally made the time today on my day off and did this! It was pretty easy, Ive been cutting my hair for years now.

Howdy-do! Goodness its been really cold lately. It finally reached -5 Sunday night. With another snow storm tomorrow, winter is still here to stay. Im so looking forward to spring. Well one day last week I was going through all the sites I look at, weather its blogs, or whatever. I saw an outfit post somewhere with a denim top and a black skirt. I love my denim button down. Ive become a big fan of throwing blacks, blues and browns together. It had just snowed the day before and whats becoming my new favorite spot was still covered with tons of snow. Before I went to work, I popped outside really quick for a little outfit post.

Again, I am obsessed with over the knee socks!!! I love them sooo much. Ill be a little sad when I cant wear them anymore.

Well things at work have been good! Got the store all set for the big 50% off sale!! (You should go!) I finally have my two days off. So its Tuesday night, its become my Friday night. Im broke as sin too... Sadly lol. Im just hanging out at home with my roommates drinking some wine and watching TV. Honestly, I wouldnt want to spend my night any other way. I finally ordered this awesome book on numerology today. It was .99cents! The shipping cost more haha. I love blogging on my days off. Hopefully Ill be able to get outside before the snow gets bad and take some lovely outfit photos, I already have the outfit in mind as well. Sunday I went and saw my favorite TV show live! I went and saw the Trailer Park Boys live!!! I even got to go on stage and meet them, it was soooooo awesome!! Well I hope everyone else is doing good and staying warm!

Cooking in style

Ive really been getting into cooking big meals for myself lately, stuff that I can just eat off all week so I dont have to cook. The meals I cook usually take a little over an hour to make, with stuff in the oven and veggies on the stove. Its so much better for me too, instead of making chicken nuggets and french fries lol. Well my awesome roommate Tegan got me this sweet apron for Christmas, and Ive been wearing it a lot when I cook now. She gave it to me and said, " now even you can cook in style". I love that Tegan is so into my fashion tastes and such. I couldnt thank her enough for such an awesome gift (she also got me this coloring book from etsy, so choice) so this is another big THANK YOU to her!

For dinner, I decided to make one of my favorite meals. I made pasta alfredo, with chicken and mixed veggies. I made sooooo much of it too, Ill be eating it all weekend, which means when I get home from work at night, Ill have a good meal to warm up. Bob used to make this for me all the time and again Id eat it all week haha. I can be a creature of habit sometimes.

Sorry Ive been lacking in posts. Ive been off the radar a lot lately. Ive given up Facebook for awhile....and Im really proud of myself, I havent been in or put anything up in a week! Ive also been turning my phone off then I get home. This weather has literally put me into hibernation mode. Ive become a huge home body and really dont want to leave my house for anything. Ive been having my friends come over here and hang out. I am in dire need of spring time. Till then, I can still look stylish, even when I cook. Same old stuff been going on, lots of work and improving myself. Doing yoga when I can and trying to stay positive in this depressing weather. Im surviving my first Boston winter so far, but I see its going to be -5 degrees Sunday.... oh boy. Im also going to see my favorite people live! Im going to see the Trailer Park Boys live Sunday. Ive been catching up on my movies too. I finally saw The Social Network, and BLACK SWAN! I finally watched it.... it was awesome. Im currently downloading The Kings Speech and Tegan and I plan to watch The Kids are Alright soon.

A snow leopard amoung panthers.

Hey everyone! Enjoying the weather where ever you are? Well Boston had a big snow storm roll in and when I woke up the next morning, it was white everywhere! The funny thing was, it was only 28/30 degrees outside, so it looked worse than it was! I finally had my day off and decided to go play in the snow! I got a new pair of over the knee socks!!! You all know how much I love them. I could pass up a chance to wear shorts again with tights and socks!

So after that last picture, a man was walking up the street...and decided to literally watch me for 5 minutes take photos. Awkward! So I decided to move my location to around the house where no one was. I was enjoying being in the open with no one around, way to go guy.

My poor bike, its just to heavy for my to put it down stairs, I got to move it soon before it gets worse outside.

So one of my Christmas presents was this AMAZING snow leopard scarf!

Earlier this week, I was interviewed about my blog by a really lovely lady by the name of Alice. It was soooo cool to be asked to do that and she was an awesome lady. Very stylish. It was so cool to get to talk about my blog with someone who was very interested in it. Work has been going well, its still gonna take a few to settle into working full time after working part time hours for so long. Im really enjoying the new year so far, Ive been making it a positive one. I recently got my right wrist tattooed too. I have so much fun things coming up too! New York Fashion week with Jessy Baum! Trailer Park Boys live next weekend! Im also painting again, which always makes me feel better.

I think Im gonna take a break from dating, I am getting a bit fed up with men these last few days and its just something I can take out of my life to make it less stressful. So when the right one just comes along, Ill be around, but until then Im laying low. Ive been spending some awesome and much needed girl time with my roommate Tegan lately. We're actually going up to the bar later today to grab a few beers. My friend Esben is in town from Florida too! So I plan to get tattooed by him.

Hey everyone! So I officially went full time this week at work, asst. manager! Now I have Wednesdays and Thursdays off. A couple of days ago my best friend Jessy Baum of Mascara or Motor Oil sent me a box of magic! In that box was this amazing gold skirt that I had to wear today with my new Forever21 heels! I have been wanting a pair like this sooooo bad! Keiko Lynn (click here for her blog) has a pair of studded shoes and I just love studs. It is so nice outside today I had to take advantage of it weather before the snow rolls in again tomorrow.

Oh yeh, it was time to bring out my heart sunglasses again. Means Im in a very happy mood.

Ive been enjoying my two days off this week, and Im looking forward to a good work weekend. I recently bought a yoga mat again and have been getting back into doing yoga more regularly at home and its really been the best thing. I dont feel as tired during the day. I did yoga for so long in FL it sucked not having a chance to do it up here yet. Its nice to be getting back into the swing of things. Since I have a set schedule now as well I feel less stressed out about things. I really am glad Im staying in Boston. Its been rough, dont be fooled, but Im doing really well for myself and my mom is really proud of me. Last night I went out with a very charming man, who took me out for burgers and beers. It was the first time I had a cheese burger in a long time. I also finally meet another person who knew about DCI hahaha. (If you dont know, its Drum Corp Internationals for us band people)

Things have been really good for me since the new year, and Im just hoping it continues. Im eating slightly better and finding myself less stressed out lately, which is awesome. Nothing but positive thoughts and good things to come!

It was my first Christmas away from home. I was invited to Tegan's family holidays, I got to take the train out after I got off work the 24th. That night we were at her aunts house for a light dinner and a few gifts. The food was delicious. I stayed the night at Tegan's and woke up for a lovely Christmas morning. I had bought a dress last minute at work and it was a good call. So pretty, this velvet green vintage dress. The back yard was so beautiful and there was still snow on the ground from the few days before.

One of the ornaments on the tree were these amazing bright red birds with gold glitter. I at first wanted to put one in my hair, but it just wasnt clipping in right. I decided to keep it and just hold onto it.

It was chilly outside but we were only out there for a few minutes. I took my jacket off right before. What really made this outfit come together is my awesome gold bow belt. I got it back home in FL and I think I paid .75cents. It was the perfect accessory for this outfit. I was having a really good hair day too.

Christmas was lovely. I got a lot a fun things from my family and Tegan's family made me feel so welcomed. I hope everyone else had a great Christmas and a fun New Years. 2011 has so much in store for it. Xoxo!

I love that song by The Specials, "Ghost Town". So I survived my first Boston snow storm! I had to walk home in it right before it got to bad, I made it, but it sucked. I ended up getting snowed in! Its not like I couldve ever gotten "sanded" in in Florida. I took a peek out the window on Monday and there was no one to be seen and everything was white. It looked like a ghost town. Well I pretty much stayed in bed all day. For some reason, I decided to go outside and take a few pictures in the snow. Ended up being really cool.

Its finally snowing in Boston!!! We've been waiting forever for it to happen. It is officially my first winter in Boston. As Im sitting in my living room right now its snowing. The roof tops are white, the streets are white, the snow is falling. It is sooooooooooooo cool. Haha, I walk to the subway stop and just giggle. Its so awesome to me... so far. Im finding its hard to dress "up" with Im just trying to stay warm haha.

I am looking forward to Christmas so much more now. Its so different being up here but Im liking it so far. Snowflakes on my eyelashes. I dont really like going to get beer in snow, but that just means Ill just have to by a 32 rack so I dont have to go out so much. Ill make my way down to the pond sometime to make snow angels! Jamaica Plain's Black Swan

SO Im dieing to see the movie Black Swan. I suck for not having gone to see it yet. Its been a matter of time and money. Lately Ive been feeling the cold weather blues so usually something that really makes me feel better is getting dressed up and going out. Well I put together a really sweet outfit and finally got to showcase my amazing black knitted poncho. Well I think its a poncho at least.

I paid $4 for the black knitted poncho at Boomerangs. I LOVE it! It keeps me sooooo warm. I sometimes fall asleep in it because Im so warm and comfy.

Now its still not TO cold here yet... so I managed to take a few pictures with out my cover up on. As soon as I took it off I realized it was still cold haha. Im still a Florida girl at heart!

That leather skirt was a great goodwill find and I only paid $4 for it. Its not as easy to go thrifting in Boston than it was in Florida, so when I find something its a big deal.

That afternoon I went to Newbury street to do some shopping. It was the first time I had walked around Boston in heels. Mind you they were wedges, but still heels. That was a big deal to me, because you have to walk around so much up here and in FL you just drive everywhere. Aside from having some cold weather blues... its started to snow finally! I took these right before it started to snow and now Jamaica Plain is cover in white :-) it is sooooo cool. There are snowflakes outside my window. Ive been working as usual and trying to get things done when I can. I ended up picking up some extra shifts this week... so I havent had any time to go Christmas shopping. I miss my family back home but I will manage through the holidays.

Box full of sunshine... wait box full of treats!

I got two boxes from home today (my mom shipped them to me from Fl) and box one (which I was allowed to open) was full of treats!!!! My mom shipped me 3 boxes of banana twins!!! 2 boxes of cupcakes and 2 boxes of my little pony gummies. Well she also sent me two winter coats that I defiantly need, a new hair dryer, and some Christmas decorations! It was a very awesome box to have gotten from home. When I laid everything out it just looked to yummy.

My mom went out of her way to decorate the box too lol.

It was so much fun to get this today. Defiantly made me feel better.

Craft Party!

Over the weekend I was invited to Holly's craft party. Holly and Gregor, I have to say are one of my dearest friends here in Boston. One of the first people I met and just two people I hold dearest to me. They get me and I feel like I can be completely comfortable with them. I was so excited to go to this party and hang out with them. We did a lot of crafts. A few of the other ladies that came worked on knitting projects, sparkling tights, and feather head bands.

It was such a lovely evening. I will admit though... I still felt a little out of place. Luckily Gregor and I both live PBR :-). Holly was a great hostess and the party was a big success. I really hope she throws another one. She is ever so stylish as well. Making more of an effort

Im so proud of myself! I got dressed in a nice outfit, worthy of blogging about, went and took pictures at the pond and am posting about it right after! No slacking in between! It was sooooo windy though!!!! The down fall to the plan. I also dyed my hair black again! Im very happy with how it came out. Now a lot of you might ask, well Leigh isnt your hair black to begin with? No its not, it was actually looking faded from the last time I dyed it too and it was starting to look brownish again. It seems like its been a week for hair cutting and dyeing. My trip to the pond was really nice though, Im glad I snapped these photos today.

For the next few shots I took, I braved with windy cold weather.

So there were two ladies standing around where I was... I have this weird thing about people watching me take pictures by myself, I feel like I look silly. They decided to sit down on the bench and watch me do this... I felt a little weird-ed out at first, but eventually got over it. Its a park, there are people walking around.

OK enough windy weather, time to through the jacket back on!

Boston is getting colder by the day, its suppose to snow here soon. My mom has finally sent me my winter coats from FL. I can not wait to get that box, because a hair dryer is also in it! Hey everyone! Hope you had a good weekend! I had a pretty easy one, which is so nice! Ive been working really hard lately, its super nice finally getting to take it easy a bit. I only had to work Saturday this weekend, and we had company over all weekend. Friday I was supposed to get tattooed but had to reschedule for Sunday. I ended up running some errands an got some stuff done.

The big deal over the weekend! I cut my roommate, Tegan's hair!!! She had been talking about cutting her hair and then she mentioned something about bangs. I told her I could cut her bangs for her no big deal. I just saw a new post from Julie of Orchid Grey ( <- click to go to her page) and she just cut her bangs!!! They looked soooo cute on her and Tegan has similar hair, so I thought of that instantly!

And she loves it!! I think I did a good job, it looks really good! Im just glad Tegan liked it, because its her hair haha. Shes been rocking her new look and I can see a fun kick in her step since. I have always been a big fan of Julie's hair posts. Tho this techinaclly wasnt a "hair post" persay, it still inspired me. Ive done two of her hair tutorials before, this will be my third. She continues to inpsire and delight me with her blog.

Still trying to wear short in Boston!

Its almost getting TO cold!!! I finally got to wear these amazing shorts I bought in FL right before I left. The thing is, they're slightly faded black so Ive been having a hard time trying to pair a top with the shorts. I dont know why I didnt think to put other colors with it, like bright bold colors. Ive been saving my blue plaid button down for when it got cooler because its a bit thicker than my other plaid button downs. This electric blue mixed with black and gold swrillies color combo is awesome! I was considering getting rid of the shorts, but Im SOOOO glad I kept them!

I had the best lighting in my living room this day.

I rarely get dressed up for work, once I get there I usually have some handy-man type of task to do, or I just dress purely for comfort. It really can be a pain in the ass trying to use the ladies room and undress, having to pull tights back up, they never feel the same twice. Having to tuck shirts in a bunch of times, re-adjusting belts, ect... sometimes it is such a hassle, so I just wear jeans and a top, much easier. The days I have time in the morning to really put together a nice outfit, I some times enjoy it and get really decked out. The shorts were a big hit all day. I got complimented on them quite a few times. Its still not to terribly cold I can still get away with tights and shorts.

I took one just as I was running out the door! I recently bought the green jacket at Goodwill in Central Square. Im glad I bought it as big as it is, because it goes over my black jacket nicely and has huge cargo pockets!

Other than that I just bundle up and try to stay warm!! Xoxo my lovely readers!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I had a really good one, aside from the fact I was 1,360 miles exactly away from my family, I was invited to Tegan's family dinner and it was sooooo lovely! They were so much fun to be around and very welcoming. Well it just isnt Thanksgiving with out my moms famous deviled eggs. I had her send me the family ingredients, and I made them for dinner. Lets just say they were a huge success and tasted just like my moms!

I made 18 eggs, and had to shell them... I was up till 1:30 making these.

When I asked my mom how much mustard with horseradish I put in there, she literally told me to make a happy face.

I had just enough stuff to fill all the eggs!

Then you have to top it off with paprika!

My eggs were so great! Momma you would be so proud I really wish you couldve tasted them. Everyone liked them at dinner as well. The best part is I still had 13 left over!!! So Ive been snacking on them. Thanksgiving dinner was so delishious, and the company was great. We drank much wine and played fun games. I also got to see some slides of Tegan's grammy when she was a young lady, photos from 60's, the clothing was so pretty. I was so glad to be around a family and not just a bunch of 20 years olds getting together. I like family traditions and things like that. Well mom, you taught me well.

Oh course I had two before it was even Thanksgiving haha.

I really love my job, I see clothes all day. Its nice because I dont have a lot of clothing and I can get some stuff from work for cheap. A customer ended up bringing us a drop off and with that she has to donate the clothing we dont take. Well I went through her stuff and ended up taking a few things, but at the bottom of her back was this just simple big black t-shirt. I ended up taking it but made it cheap. I bought it that night, ended up wearing it when I got home to lounge around in, and just ended up sleeping in it that night. Well... when I got up I didnt give myself enough time to really get dressed and eat something before I left for work... SO I just threw on some tights and my waist cincher! Basically, I got complimented a lot on my outfit for the day haha.

Ive noticed when I take photos I always forgot to get the entire outfit. That includes jacket, scarf and purse. The purse, it s real Coach bag I found at a good will up here (the one in Somerville) I paid $5 for it. That jacket, I got it at Forever21 a few months ago on sale, its been a major success. So my mom ended up sending me my waist cincher, smart thinkin on her part, because it really can make an outfit ten times more awesome. I took a plain old t-shirt and make it a sweet dress.

Ive been trying to dress a bit nicer for work instead of black jeans and a button down. This was a good day for me. Work has been going really well, so many good things and Ive been impressing my managers so much! Looks like Ill be staying in Boston for sure. I was giving myself a 6 months grace period, but things are going so well for me that Im defiantly staying. I love it here a lot and am accomplishing so much! Tegan ( my roommate) and I have been doing a lot of fun arts and craft stuff lately! (pics to come) Today was Black Friday, and working retail that usually means a really shitty day... Well work ended up being kinda slow, but we still sold a lot of stuff! I even helped and bought this vintage coat Ive been wanting for a while now. So Ive been working a lot lately, if you didnt know haha. I was scheduled to work Friday at our Charles St. location and when I got there I was told I wasnt needed so I didnt end up working Friday which was AWESOME! I even got paid that day so I went to the Goodwill in Central square and the art supply store. Well since I was orginally working at a nice fancier store, I decided to kind of dress nice for work. Mind you Im still limited to what I can wear, but I think this outfit came together nicely. Its a sweet top too I bought before I left for Boston at goodwill in Tampa.

I realize its all black, which I get stuck in wearing especially when it gets cold and its practically grey every day. I try not to wear all black but its so hard sometimes. I just like the way it looks and it suits the city well. Over time Ill acquire more clothing, I mean I work at a clothing store haha.

All the rings I wore to work haha. Its getting hard to wear rings though because my hands are colder and I have to wear gloves most of the time. So Ive been putting my rings in my purse and putting them on when I get to work or where ever Im at.

All in all its been good! I opened and closed tonight at work on my own and did such a good job!!! The drawer wasnt over or under! We got so much done today, all consignment appointments and the drop offs! Im doing really great at work. Im doing great socially as well. I keep meeting the best people and having such a good time. Also, living in Jamaica Plain has been AWESOME! Ive got to hang out at the tattoo shop a lot lately and that makes me feel so good. Its been cool getting to hang with Lucky again and now with Alex, Becky and James (Sassy) Its like a piece of home in my new home. Well I hope everyone else is doing just as good. Black and Grey Owl

On one of the many grey days we have here in Boston, the lighting was some what nice for a low key photo shoot. I decided to wear something nice to work, instead of the same black jeans and button down. Since I dont have a hair dryer up here, I just havent bought one yet, my hair hasnt been lookin top notch lately. Ive been wearing hats a lot the last few weeks and this was just a nice outfit to wear for work.

It sucks not having all my clothes! I make do tho. Its kind of nice getting to layer thing up here. I get to wear more scarfs, sweaters with jackets, hats and gloves. I thought this was funny tho. Ive been living out of my suitcase, even with my mom sending me some stuff I have no dresser to put anything in lol. I am literally sitting in all my clothes.

Speaking of work, I work a lot! I have a lot of work coming up especially with Thanksgiving coming up next week. Lots of work means a nice paycheck. My friend Ed-E is in town and Angelo is coming up in December, so Im trying to save up a few $$ to get tattooed, defiantly trying to have my sleeve worked on, because who knows when Ill make it back to Tampa in time and have money then to get my arm worked on. I feel like Ive had tattoos on the mind a lot lately, which isnt a bad thing, except I dont live back home where I could easily get tattooed. Hopefully with time Ill acquire more clothing to mix into my wardrobe. Anyways, hope everyone else is doing good! Im meeting up with a new friend tonight for drinks, crossing my fingers it goes well.

Back after Ive finally found my camera cord.

HELLO!!! I am beyond sorry for the lack of posting. I have been beyond busy since moving to Boston and working 40 hours practically. I finally moved into my new apartment in Jamaica Plain, but I also lost my camera cord for the last 2 weeks. Needless to say a lot has happened. I would love it if all my lovely readers still love me and still continue to check this out.

So I went to Providence recently on one of my days off. Went to visit a friend of mine. When we got there we ended up going to a park and walking in the back woods and drinking. It was pretty nice. The weather was low key and cool. I decided to sneak off at one point and found a tree I could put my camera on and take a few photos. The place I was, was really pretty.

Now I realize it isnt the most stylish outfit, but its defiantly one of my favorites, I had my mom send me my Floor shirt in my first package. Also, I dont have a lot of my clothing so outifts are limiting.

It really is obvious Im not in Florida anymore. The fall here has been so interesting and all the colors are so vibrant. This was a nice trip and break away from being in the city.

I love how its so easy to get to some places by the train. A train ride to Providence is like 45 minutes. Its always nice to pop over some where else and hang out with friends. I have been up to so man fun projects. I have finally settled in and am living in Jamaica Plain. Since I finally have my own space and fun roommates I can do more things and have time to myself as well. Its been really nice but very busy. I am really enjoying things up here.

I was asked to model for a really fun event and ended up making new friends and got to wear an awesome dress! Now the dress wasnt see through to begin with, but when a flash was shined on it you could see I wore boy shorts that day (thank goodness too lol). Holly was so sweet, I meet her at the fashion swap last week and I do believe Ive made a great new friend. Her boyfriend Greg is so amazing to. They were both so welcoming and so nice.

The people I got to work with were so great. Amanda who did my make up was so much fun. Paul trimmed up my bangs and made my hair look mega bad ass. The other models were fun to hang around. One of the ladies, Najeema, bought me a beer! How awesome is that, she was a mega sweetheart and very friendly. I had a lot of fun getting to hang with everyone.

This was really a lot of fun and Im so glad I got asked to be apart of this. I can add this to the list of fun things Ive gotten to do since Ive moved to Boston. Things have been great here, although I wish things were better at home. I have kinda felt a little overwhelmed lately. Things have been moving so fast that I really need some time to catch my breath and let everything settle in. Ive only been here for about a month now, Ive made a lot of new friends, but I have friends here that I need to go see. I feel bad, things have just been catching up with me. Work has been great, but Im defiantly looking forward to having a few days off this coming week.

Staying at Matthews house while I wait for my apt in Jamaica Plain, it was so cold. The plus factor was I finally got to sleep in till about 11, which is sleeping in for me now because Ive been getting up early everyday. Since he wasnt here I took advantage of having some time to myself and decided to take a few photos.

Instead of calling these fashionable photos, Im just gonna roll with pictures I took with my canon lol.

Its 55 outside, and not sunny, but the lighting was befitting of the mood.

This hat belongs to Matthew, and I must say its probably my favorite ones he owns. It also reminds me a lot of my dad for some reason. Im diggin the browns lately. Also! New shirt! Got it at the Garment District yesterday. Its vintage, but not cool enough for Matthew since its from the 70's...lol.

Dont you love photo editing, I do, especially when the photo looks old and cool now haha.

Its nice to have today off, to enjoy some time alone and get things done. This coming week I work 4 days which is awesome, and I am possibly modeling in a fashion show!! How awesome is that! I just keep meeting great people and keep getting asked to do all kinds of fun things! Im taking Boston by storm and really making a name for myself here. Xoxo everyone!

Garment District Misfits

Yesterday I had the awesome invitation to go to the Garment District with my new friend Molly. Um, can we say awesome! If you like to rummage through tons of clothing to find treasures, this is the place to go. What a great way to hang out with a new friend and joke around. It was nice to laugh with someone who gets my sense of humor.

I met her one night while I was hanging out with Matthew and his friends. Apparently we both have just moved to Boston. We got to talkin and found out we both have blogs haha. This girl is bad ass, she came in with whiskey and ready to party. Also a fun fact about her, she works at Charlies, right next to where I work haha. We couldnt be more better for each other.

So heres some photos oh what we were going through. Oooohh hahah the funniest thing happened while I was looking for shoes. I ended up finding another pair of moccasins, while I was trying on one shoe, this lady came up behind me and grabbed the other pair, I told her I was trying the other one on and she then went to ask me what size they were. Now before I tell you my reply, I honestly didnt see a size on the shoe. I turned to her and said they were MY SIZE! Hahaha, I felt kinda bad so after I looked at her and said I wasnt trying to be a dick, they just fit and I was keeping them haha. I could tell she was pissed but it was funny, especially since Matthew had just told me a funny story about shoe stealing.

So these are my walkin shoes, Im thinkin about taking lots of pictures with them as I continue living in Boston. Kinda like all those photos you see with the little Nome guy.

Best photo right here. So yeh we look awesome carrying our bags of goodies, my bag was only 6.6 pounds, Molly's ended up being 11 pounds. SO! I love seeing pictures of people, where someone in the background is being goofy, a complete stranger. I hadnt noticed it at first, but the guy behind us is making his photo debut. I started laughing so hard, it is hilarious!

All in all it was a total success. I cant wait for more adventures with Molly. I do believe Ms Ashleigh and I have one coming up this week as well. Things have been going really well. I almost dont want to keep saying that because Im afraid Ill wake up and be back in Tampa haha. The weather is getting cooler here by the day. I am loving it...so far lol. I bought a nice jacket too to keep me warm as it gets colder here. Matthew said it could start snowing by the end of October. I really hope everyone back home is doing ok. Xoxo everyone!

The Swapaholics Fashion week event!

I had the best night at the Swapaholics event! It was a mad house of bloggers and clothing. I ended up snagging some cute things, including a Roberto Cavalli top. Last night I got to meet and hang out with Julie of Orchid Grey. All bloggers should be as sweet and humble as her. She asked me to be in the bloggers runway show! That was so great and I totally killed it. When I got there I was the girl with all the tattoos that no one knew, and afterwords I was the girl that rocked the runway that everyone wanted to know! I love being the new girl in town, has its perks.

Now for some reason, I was selected to win this $100 gift card to The Closet!!! Say WHAT!!! Yeh I totally did and I just could not have had a better night. I meet some amazing ladies and introduced Boston to Lovely Leigh!

Shopping in Boston

So I of course have been shopping in Boston. Ive gone to a goodwill and 2 Buffalo Exchanges. I have actually gone to a bunch of places haha, but I ended up getting some great things at those two places.

First I got this amazing vintage coat from Buffalo Exchange, in Allston. It was only $19!!! What a steal.

At Goodwill I bought 3 purses (along with some other things, but these were amazing) The first is my new Yetta (Fan's grandma in The Nanny Named Fran) gold purse. Sooooo pretty! Im going to use it for notebooks and paperwork. Its going to be my fancy work purse for important things.

Then I also got this beautiful little black hand bag. It was a must have.

I also ended up buying this adorable pin-up dress from Stop Staring, at Buffalo Exchange, paid $10.50 for it

As well as this amazing hot red leather skirt for $11! To hot to pass up.

My first week here I bought this really pretty pin from Bobby's From Boston, it was the first thing Matthew sold me :-) <3
